Time seems to fly by and we never seem to have enough of it. There is always so much to do and never enough hours in the day. I know a lot of us feel that way. I think it brings new meaning to the phrase “take time to smell the roses”. We should make some time to be with those we love, a special friend, our animals, our pets, watching the birds, doing something fun with the children or grandchildren, anything that is special to us because those fleeting moments that we didn’t have to spare make memories that live on forever. So, take time for something you’ve never had time for today and don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers. I know I did; and they did smell wonderful.
It is another beautiful morning and what a great day to go spread manure. It has been aging in the compost pile for over two years now and has such a fine texture, it is so loamy and light, and it has the most beautiful dark brown color. Did I mention wonderful smelling?
This is how I spread manure in case you were curious.
Here is what true joy is. Sleeping in your tub of water with a smile on your face. The simple things in life; they are what warms our hearts. Hope you have a simple thing happen to warm your heart today.
Today feels like spring with thunderstorms in the forecast. It is bright and sunny with just a little wind. What a welcome change! Last weekend we got 5″ of snow and it was cold like winter along with over 20 mph winds. I hope spring will soon be here to stay.
The piglets are growing up fast and are ready to be sold and head for new homes. They are Kunekune piglets. They are 10″ tall and 21″ long this week. They were born on March 23, 2014. They are so friendly and come running over for a pet or for their favorite….a vanilla wafer.
